The Project Blattformer (engl.: Sheet-Former)

For one year (October 26th, 2009 to October 25th, 2010) the two artists Peter Freitag and Ruprecht Dreher produce one paper-cut every day and publish it online (---> www.blattformer.de). The only common parameter is to start from a paper sheet with appr. the same size (Din A5-Format) and the agreement to alternate daily.

One starts and will produce the uneven sheet numbers up to 365, the other will produce the even numbers from 2 to 364. In the end the full block will offer an overview on the course of the whole project.

Form and content are open, development is welcome!

About the Blattformer (engl.: Sheet-Formers)

Ruprecht Dreher forms a black sheet of paper in the format A5. With exactly two cuts he creates silhouettes where each positive form finds its negative analogon. In the end his works vary in width and height.

Peter Freitag uses pages taken from A5 magazines. After re-arranging or partly erasing the colors with solvent and/or sand-paper he cuts the papersilhouettes. Through his paper attacks his sheets become more and more fragile, smaller and thinner.
